Battery likely needs to be replaced. We had to jump it to drive it from one area to another. But might only need charging, the battery doesn't look that old. No idea about the other stuff, it likely works (it was lived in for almost a year) and the windows open.

Generally I'd guess people looking to sell would want to do it in the spring, as that's when people are shopping however, some users might be glad to not pay the storage costs all winter for something they have no intention of keeping.
We bought our current one in the spring and I think got a great deal on it because the seller was moving. Looking at comparables (as we'd sell ours) we'd likely be able to break even or make money on the unit. When purchasing we showed up with cash and bought it the same day the guy listed it.
What about dealers? Are they under any incentive to ditch their inventory in the fall? Would be looking at a 26-30+ foot unit, 2012 - 2014 around $15 - $20k. Would have to be an upgrade (interior/layout) on what we currently have. I've seen a year or two newer models that are EXACTLY the same as mine and priced at $16 or $17k, which seems stupid, not to list for that much, but for me to upgrade for a 1-3 year new model and have the exact same trailer.
Any updates from Pylon on how the market is doing?

If oil stays low, I'd look at the used market as people will likely be unloading their toys to pay their mortgage.
*just re-read your post again. Given that you have a trailer to sell as well, I'm not sure any waiting would benefit you much*

Just my two cents:
From the perspective of a lender:
Traditionally we see Oilfield personnel purchasing fancy personal use rv's/trailers and are able to amortize them over crazy terms when things are going good.
While this keeps payments low, it also results in being underwater on them after the first year.
When the going gets tough, these are the first items that people try to shed.
We have tons of people try to "turn over the keys" which obviously isn't an option.
IMO a person could find a heck of a deal if you want to spend some time gauging the desperation level of people selling on Kijiji.
You'll just have to determine if that puts you in a moral quandary or not.
Again, just my opinion, but I have a feeling you might find a better deal looking outside of the Calgary market.

I got such a good deal on mine I'm confident selling now would yield me breakeven at a minimum. If that was the case, I'd be willing to wait and not have a trailer this season and buy fall-2015 or spring-2016. Agree that used is the route to go, that's how we ended up with such a good deal on our current unit.

Yeah, been looking for 3/4 ton trucks using the same line of thinking. Expanding my search area 250kms outside of Calgary. Although it's been a passive search (not meeting people) the pricing seems non-distressed, ditto for the trailers. I don't think you get a good gage until you go view the car/trailer etc. and speak to the person.
No moral quandary, I bought a vehicle that way a few years ago and it turned out to be a lemon that blew the engine. If I had paid asking or even close to asking I would have been in a world of hurt, had the buyer not caved and sold to me he'd have been in a worse world of hurt with that vehicle. There's good and bad for everyone in these situations, just part of life. I paid a lot for repairs (cost of vehicle), got a lot of warranty work (fluke) and got out even 8 months later. Part of life, and my money saved gets spent on other things that benefit other people

Hopefully, but I would anticipate prices dropping over the next 12 months as people lose jobs and sell their toys.
