The first Flames game I ever saw on television was Game 7 in 1994 against Vancouver. In those days, I would check the newspaper two days after games so I could see the result. (Where I lived, games would start too late for scores to come in time for next day printing.)
In 2004, you all know what happened with the Flames. Game 6 of the first round was my first ever trip to Calgary. I thought it was my destiny to be present for the first playoff series win in 15 years. Didn't quite work out that way. But fortunately, I was able to return to Calgary for my second trip just a few weeks later for the entire Stanley Cup Finals.
11 years later, I will return to Calgary for the third time this Saturday for Game 6 of their series against Vancouver.
Enjoy tonight ARI. It's all your fault if we falter.
Fun fact; they had already had shut down and didn't serve booze (at least where we were going in the Dome) in any of that OT's Game 6 R1 2004. It too was a Saturday night that year, as well.

Rectified for OT G6 vs Det.
I don't remember there was no more booze in the concourse of 222 where we were, but I do remember that Game 6 against Vancouver in 2004. My nerves were shredded as we congregated during OT intermissions. That 3OT Morrison goal was crushing. Funny to reflect that Morrison (and Bertuzzi) would later become Flames; same with Hannan, Feaster, Sarich, and Modin--any others?

4-0 down after Sanderson scored in the second.
Then two goals in the second. Then two goals from tipped point shots in the 3rd, Clark from Regher.
Probably the second loudest the Dome has been when Clark's 4th went in.
Whatever the reason, don't recall too many great chances either way in the overtimes, for either team, it was pretty nervous, conservative play.
Here it is, in glorious SD, compressed by youtube even further. 1:30 to 2:40 is the good stuff.

He got kicked out of the game before the opening puck drop, and waited in the car listening to the game on the Fan 960 for us in the parking lot.
Canucks went up 4-0, Flames stormed back to tie it, and lost 2:28 into the third OT.
I managed to get a lower bowl seat in the south end and was surrounded by the wives of the Flames Black Aces. It was tough keeping my focus on the game
