We'll always have 2007-2015 to look back fondly on I guess.

It looks like the Oilers have finally figured it out.

Let MacTavish put together a terrible team, draft McDavid, and then clean house.

I doubt mactavish has been fired. He has an interview coming up on 630 ched here right away.

Mark Spector @SportsnetSpec
Chiarelli will meet with Oilers today. Assuming he is interviewing for GM job, but that is unconfirmed. @FriedgeHNIC

If they don't win that lottery, I bet none of this happens. They're scrambling to appease the saviour.

They could turn this thing around pretty quickly with a few good decisions.

Whoops, it's not a live interview with mactavish on ched. Carry on with the speculation.

Getting Mcdavid was the very last get out of jail card free the oilers have. They literally have no choice but to not mess this up. Not too often a franchise can be swimming in stank for so long, only to have literally McJesus land on your lap. Get rid of Lowe and the OBC and suddenly a team with McDavid has hope for the future. Sad times for Flames fans, but then again we're probably headed to round 2 so Edmonton is still no good!

Personally, I cannot stand the fact they've drafted so high for so long. Would be nice for once not to see them draft in the top ten. Not that I want them to win. I want them to be mired for ten years now finishing 9th in the west.

If Chiarelli and a coach like Maclellan gets them there with the one or two playoffs appearances, I'll take it.

Haha, only in Edmonton do they publicly interview for a new GM before firing the old one. Heck they probably invited Mac-T into the room.
"Hey Craig, join us in the board room and meet Peter. We're thinking we might hire him to be our next GM and we'd like your thoughts on whether he's the right guy to replace you or not. Oh, by the way keep your skype signed in later."

Dammit they are actually going to fix this aren't they.

Nicholson, Chiarelli, and McDavid are a great battery to build from.

Writing is on the wall for the old boys club. The combination of adding McDavid and getting rid of Lowe and MacT has to be a pretty enticing situation. Still lots of holes to plug but a competent management team can do that within a couple of years.

Come 2016/17, this could be a good rivalry again... let the best team win!

The fact that it's confirmed he's meeting with the Oilers has to be pretty awkward for Lowe and MacT as I'm sure the position he would be eyeing is the GM chair and I imagine conditions an entire house cleaning from Lowe down to the scouts.

Don't forget McLellan as HC.

That team can turn it around in a hurry with the right leadership.

Wouldn't be shocked if the Flames being one game away from moving to the second round of the playoffs played a role too.

KLowe and MacT aren't feeling troubled by this. Too busy winning.

Wow easy here people.

A job interview is two sided.

I suspect Chiarelli is interviewing the organization as well......hopefully he will realize that their answers to his question(s), are No Good.
