I don't think McDavid will reach his potential with those clowns.

Not a chance. All attention is now deflected off of them for a good year or two. MacTavish and Lowe, Katz are the happiest clowns on the planet right now. The last thing they'll be thinking about is how to REALLY improve the club, because in their mind there's nothing now that'll need to be done.
Big piss up in at Katz's palace tonight and in a twisted way, I'm kinda all right with it.
Why couldn't the NHL pull an NBA and rig it so the two most needy American teams went #1 and 2 and the Leafs and Oilers fell to 13th and 14th? Worst part is assuming no Lindros, the Oilers can trade a few guys (like Hall namely) and get a few more parts. Such an unjust reward for such a piece of crap franchise.

As much as I am pissed off that the oilers got Mcdavid, I can have solace in the fact that our team worked their butt off and made the playoffs this year. We have huge building blocks in Bennett, Gaudreau, and Monahan. Add that to gio, brodie, russel, and wideman on defence along with Hartley as the coach, I think I would rather have this team then having to rely on Mcdavid as the savior. #### edmonton
