I think Engelland has proven, he isn't a 7. I think he is a legit 4, not a 7 pretending to be one. I also think a guy that was attacked and tackled in a double team fight, showed incredible restraint to not take it any further, or make it any uglier than it already was.

I am pretty certain the NHL will look at it today, and basically wash the thing out for all parties, but give both teams a pretty stern warning going forward.

Throughout the year, I've thought that Johnny needs Hudler to be effective, but in this series, Johnny has been creating despite Hudler. I think it's time to try Johnny with others, I think he has developed enough to be the catalyst himself.

I want to see Ferland up on that line with them. I know he's a LW too, but he's been a serious physical presence and has been the Flames best forward. He gets into the slot or follows Johnny around, he'll get a prime scoring chance.
i agree with this... Johnny seems to be pretty good still, the problem is Hudler and Mony have been off... johnny created a beautiful give and go with hudler, from the slot to the corner where hudler was, and was expecting a return pass, but Huds flat out mishandled it...

seems like Johnny has been creating, but others have been fumbling it...not to say JH has been perfect, but i think that he's trying too hard to do it himself because the other guys aren't stepping up. Not he's trying to cut it too fine...

switching johnny to be with a guy like ferland or bouma with maybe a bennett or backlund would a least break up the scoring to two lines a little more...

I like what Engelland has done this year but I have a hard time seeing him as a legit 4. He's filled the void admirably but I think many will breathe easier when he can return to a more familiar role with less minutes.

Agreed.

hey i appreciate how engelland has stepped up, but he is not a legit four...he has many gaffs as good plays.

even on the flames, I'd have wideman, russell, brodie and Gio ahead of him, so he isn't even a four on our team...
