I really never understood some of these kids. They repeatedly take the teaseing from bullies and don't do a thing, they let themselves get picked on. Then what do they do? The anger inside them ends up building up so much, they take a gun to school and start killing people. Yep, real smart.

It's by no means all the people's fault who were bugging the kid constantly, some people need to learn to stand up for themselves. Do that and ohhh I don't know... Maybe you won't get bugged anymore or people will think twice about it?

Rather then taking it, punch the little fata in the face. Sure you might get your ass kicked by him and his friends, but at least they'll know you arn't going to take they're crap, and it would be a lot better then crying about it day after day until finally snapping.
Thank you very much for actually stating the most ignorant view of the situation that the majority of the population actually holds. Often times it is considered boys being boys or something along those lines, even when the situation is as serious as it was in this case. If you read the records as to what happened I have no doubt in my mind that this kid was a ticking time bomb for lack of a better term. Everyday he wakes up and knows that when he goes to school in a small town where there is nowhere to run to he is going to face the people that make his life a living hell, people that beat him pretty much everyday. This isn't the boys will be boys crap that many people think is part of growing up, this was a constant assault which is comparable to the assaults against a battered wife. You havea defeatest mindset created where the views of the abusers are transfered onto the victim, and the attitudes associated with those actions are summarly created.

There just wasn't anything in place where he could turn to, especially since it is Taber and I am sure if anyon has been to Taber they would understand what I mean. It is a very close community to say the least and social services are not really accepted to that great of a degree. No education on bullying leads to a mindset which in effect promotes the behaviour and then in conjunction with a lack of programs designed to curb bullying it paints a frightening picture.

It would be interesting to see the school shootings in rural areas in comparison to the school shootings in urban areas.

I just hope that every single one of those abusers realizes that they are at least partially responsible for Jason Lang's death.

I say give him his wish: shoot the bas**rd.

It is pretty hard for the kid to get help when the rumour around town was that he was also abused at home. Guy goes to school and gets made fun of all day and then he comes home and gets abused..
