Bill Simmons shows some love for the Flames

Hughson is a Canucks Homer. No secret there, but I don't think he hates the Flames either. Drance HATES the Flames though. Loathes them.

I enjoy the BS report as a podcast, but I'm a pretty big basketball fan, so that helps. Honestly don't expect to hear hockey talk on it. Basically only when he gets very specific guests will there be hockey talk, Al Michaels, John Hamm, his Dad, that's pretty much it for hockey on the BS report.

I subscribe to the BS Report, so I was all set to make fun of Simmons for his once-every-year-or-so hockey podcast, but then he was all pro-Flames and anti-Canucks so I'll cut him some slack.

Just do more hockey podcasts, Bill! Once a month during the season isn't too much!

Yeah, his daughter's a huge Kings fan, so he goes to lots of games with her which helps.

And RE: Vancouver hate, it's funny, because I remember listening to a pod between him & Wysh leading into the 2011 Cup Final, and he was talking about wishing it was someone other than Vancouver, because he felt rather indifferent towards them and wanted a team in there that he could hate on. He had no idea the Dbag Canuck team he was about to be subjected to.

And for those Twitterites on here who don't know Wysh, he's a solid follow. Not just for hockey, he's got a solid grasp on nerd culture too. He's an American who really understands the Canadian hockey fan.

Agreed. I have had a few "back and forths" with Drance earlier in the season about his power rankings and I get the same feeling. I don't think he necessarily hates the Flames, but as more of a spredsheet watcher than hockey watcher, he hates that the Flames don't fall into the categories they should according to those spreadheets.

This is a guy that said the Oilers were still a better team than the Flames when the GF/GA differential between the 2 teams was 60+ because..... corsi says so.
