Really disappointing to say the least. Is something up with this guy? Gets called up during the season and shows NOTHING... gets sent down and does NOTHING until he gets called out by his coach. Does ok so he gets called up for the last game and he was INVISIBLE ...
Kind of troubling behavior... almost Sven like... Personally, I just don't understand his apparent lack of effort.. Overwhelmed ? Thought?

Please tell me this isn't a serious post. Come on now.
Yes, he was called out by Huska. ONCE because he was having a bad game and was invisible right after coming back from Calgary. Huska felt that after a taste of pro's, Poirier should have come back as the Flames best player and he just didn't have that game. He's yet to be called out by Huska since. He's also a rookie, they go through ups and downs. This is completely normal behaviour.
As for the Sven comparison, Baertschi was a whiny, entitled, prima donna player who distanced himself from the team. Poirier is a team player and doesn't seem to have attitude, confidence or any other multitude of personality issues that plagues Baertschi. They are NOTHING alike.
Seriously, I usually keep my mouth shut on threads like this but some of the NHL Flames fan base really need to get their expectations in check. One game and you start praising or writing off players. Hockey at a minor level is full of learning and high and low points. To judge a player off a game or two is absolutely ridiculous.
Poirier is just fine. He's 20, he's in his first pro year and not only is he one of the AHL's top rookies he impressed enough to get a call up to the NHL. I think he's progressing just fine and ahead of the curve for most rookies in his position.
