Is there a reason for the predictions on injuries

Remember when it was pretty much unanimous agreement that 94 points gets you in? I'm looking at the standings and thinking there needs to be 3 wins out of the final 5 games to get a spot. That's 97 points. It's insane to think a team could finish at 94 or 95 points and potentially miss the playoffs. I think Edmonton and Arizona should be locks for 4 points. Just need to find 2 more somewhere else. Whether that's 2 OTL or another win, doesn't matter. It would be really epic to win the last two games with teams in the fight right on the bubble and show that this team deserves that spot more than anyone else.

Not that crazy. Dallas and Calgary both missed with 95 and 94 points 4 years ago.

I think we win the next 4 and lose to Winnipeg after we have clinched a playoff birth by beating the Kings the game before that. If we don't win thursday against the Blues, then I think we beat Winnipeg to clinch it.
This is going to be fun but I might have to have a defibrillator at home moving forward for the last 5 games.

At this point I would 100% not be surprised if Calgary, LA and Winnipeg all won 4 of their last 5 games.
(LA and WPG losing to Calgary of course )
EDIT: Actually, come to think of it. I'd be surprised if LA and WPG DON'T win 4 of their last 5 games. This race is bonkers.

I have a feeling we get at least a point vs St Louis. That's one of the teams probably rooting hard for us right now ... nobody wants the Kings to get in. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames and Jets made it a 3 point game when they play each other if it helps both to stay ahead of the Kings.
But even without my tin foil hat, I'm pretty optimistic. 3-2 in the last 5 should be enough to get in. If they want to be in the playoffs, they MUST beat the Yotes ... and the Oilers, even if they are playing well and trying to play spoiler.

I won't predict the last five games but considering our last couple of games, I now think we have a punchers chance against the Blues. There is also the fact that Tarasenko may not play. Bieksa I guess isn't completely useless as he tripped him causing the injury. Steen is also day to day.

I think it might be enough. I see them maybe stealing an OT point in St. Louis, the best team left to play and on the road but they are coasting a bit and resting up. Edmonton is ripping it up right now, which is terrible timing but they are also playing LA two more times, so maybe not so bad. They're playing loose and Taylor Hall is back and scoring again. The yotes is a must win, they are an AHL team. 1-1-1. Then split the last two.
Didn't see them getting 2 tonight at all... if they steal 2 more in St. Louis just wow on this roadtrip.

The most satisfying part of your pessimism is that at this record for the Flames' final 5 games, the Kings can spar only two losses in 6 games to overcome us. The cherry on top is that an OT is practically useless to them also.

If the Jets and Canucks can beat St. Louis, so can we.

The Jets have the Rangers, Canucks, Wild and Blues in their next 4 games. I'd honestly be surprised if they won all of those, and if they somehow did then they are even better than I thought they were.

After watching the VAN/St.Louis game last night, I think a W against the Blues is a possibility. That was BRUTAL hockey. Steal those two points from a game I personally had no stock in them winning, and things get easier.

I think at this point both of the Jets and Kings are as good as any team in the league. I'm not counting on either of them losing.
For the Flames, it's simple. Win and you're in.
That's why I'm going to call 5 wins
Screw it. I've been conservative all season. Win Win Win Win Win.
Seriously, I honestly think they'll come out with a win tomorrow. Then my only worry is them coming out flat footed for one of the games against Edmonton or Arizona.

And that was the only time in NHL history that 96 points wouldn't have done it.

You couldn't ask for a better last 5 games. 2 games against bottom feeders and two games against teams we're battling with.
