I hope Engelland has been watching 'Tunnel of Doom' videos so he can put Hemsky into the second row like Regehr would do. Cant have that guy getting multiple point games at the saddledome.
^ Haha someone beat me to it with the same sentiment.
I gotta say, I think Schlemko and Diaz have been playing well as of late. I really like that they step up in the offensive zone (especially Schlemko) to keep the puck in. I'm not as worried with the bottom pairing as I used to be.
- take slap shot, miss puck and fall down
- try to hold the line, fall down
- take pee-wee style slap shot wind up, plunk right into defenders shins
True, but as the poster above you has stated, he is playing better. Diaz & Schlemko are a below average pairing no matter how you look at it. The fact that they aren't getting scored on at an embarrassing rate means they are doing something right which is great news since the top 4 can't play all 60.
I really wish that we got a D-man in the Glencross deal to bolster the ranks, but we'll have to wait until next year for that to happen. Until then Diaz & Schlemko are playing well (relatively speaking).
I am pretty dang happy with our top 4 and I hope they remain intact for next year. I hope we have 2 completely new guys on the bottom pairing.
Not looking forward to Benn and Hemsky flopping all over the ice and them scoring on the ensuing PP. I hope Bouma clocks them both and gives them a reason to fall.
Need this win BADLY boys. Let's beat the living #### out of them and make this a statement game!!

Diaz makes 700k and plays on the bottom pairing. A lot of posters like this person seem to expect our bottom pairing to play like Norris candidates and if they don't, they are hot garbage.

I'd add that at least Diaz shoots the puck. Lots of times I am yelling at our other 5 defenseman to shoot the puck, Diaz isn't afraid to. However, his quality of shots are very poor so there is a definite downside to that.

Apparently this means that not once can he get a shot through to the net like Wideman, Brodie, Engelland, Schlemko or Russell.
I miss Robyn. I miss seeing hits like that on a regular basis. What a baby that Hemsky is, never reacted to getting destroyed like every game he played against the flames.
We need a fast skating, tough to play against beast back there who players are scared of. I don't think we have that right now. Are teams scared to get hit by the flames? I doubt it.
Anyway,
Lets go flames!! I think they win 3-2 and it is a nail biter the whole game. 2-2 and we win in OT.
