Sounds like he's put on another 2 inches and 20 pounds since his draft as well.

The thing with AC and other players like him is that they come with the caveat that they should be dominating the junior ranks as over-agers, especially with his size.

NHL potential: crash and bang depth winger?

I wonder if Colborne's 1 pt in March helped make this decision....

Yeah, in fact wouldn't he have just became a UFA after that draft if we didn't take him?

I think a lot of teams were just gambling that they would have a chance to sign him after.

Yeah. Really hard to tell based on his numbers this season if offense will translate.

He is a pest though. Said one of the biggest influences in his game is Claude Lemieux that lived close by to his family in Phoenix. In fact he and Brendan Lemieux are friends.

I think a poorman's Brendan Lemieux is a good description of him.

Our farm's wing depth next season should be pretty decent if we resign this year's standouts:

Poirier
Klimchuk
Hathaway
Smith
Elson
Caroll
Agostino?
Sieloff?
Wolf? (Probably not interested in another year in the minors)

But after Bill Arnold they have some ::serious:: holes at center. They might keep reinhart for that reason alone though that kinda sucks for Max because he will have to go through the harsh reality of clearing waivers.

Signing Jankowski and keeping Granlund down there would make a huge difference if the Heat want to develop each of these wingers properly.

6'4" and 224lbs?

Was he that big when we drafted him?

Wow, that's a handful. Go get em AC.

Sieloff should be at D. Granlund will be up here next year.

Not really a big deal. There are always AHL vets to sign like a Ben Street.

Hearing good things about Taylor Vause in Adirondack too.

Saw AC when he played the Hitmen and he really stood out. He was all over the ice and under Hitmens' skin. He dominated like a 20 year old should.

Sureloss made a comparison to Brendan Lemieux which I thinks is very fair because when I saw AC it reminded me of how Lemieux played at the top prospects game in Calgary.

FYI, Agostino has 17 points in his last 17 games. He's really turned it on as of late and has NHL size and NHL speed. Jury is not out on him, I'd be shocked if he doesn't get qualified by the team.

Going to be another prospect log jam down on our AHL affiliate again next year, even if they choose not to qualify many of the RFA's. It's getting so we almost need two affiliate teams, in order to get everybody adequate ice time.

1. Hunter Smith (turns pro?)
2. Austin Carroll (turns pro)
3. Morgan Klimchuk (turns pro)
4. Emile Poirier (may make NHL)
5. Michael Ferland (RFA - may make NHL)
6. Markus Granlund (may make NHL)
7. Drew Shore (RFA - may make NHL)
8. David Wolf (RFA)
9. Max Reinhart (RFA)
10. Bryce Van Brabant
11. Bill Arnold (RFA)
12. Kenny Agostino (RFA)
13. Ben Hanowski (RFA)
14. Turner Elson (RFA)

...and there's guys like Hathaway, Tousignant and Vause, who've been pretty solid this season on AHL deals.

At least a few of those RFAs won't be signed. Wouldn't shock me if Hanowski is only offered an AHL deal. I liked Elson at rookie camp but not sure if he has NHL upside either.
