Can we just cheer for the building to collapse instead?

I agree with you. Everyone keeps saying how the Canucks have an easier schedule than Winnipeg, but it's still not very easy, and they are fragile.
Jets, Avalanche, Stars, @Blues, @Predators, @ Blackhawks, @ Jets, Kings, Coyotes, Oilers.
Besides the last 2 games, none are easy wins.
Winnipeg has a much better lineup. I think the Flames can catch Vancouver down the line. Finishing in 2nd or 3rd in the Pacific is way better than a Wild Card position.

Canucks, as dirty as it makes me feel.
Should Winnipeg lose and 'fall' below the Flames, the Flames get to play both the Kings and Jets before season ends. Since they can't rely on the OOT, that puts a lot more control into their own destiny.

Haha fair enough.
Replace Canucks and Kings with the Gordon Bombay coached District 9 Mighty Ducks when they got Adam Banks.

Jets loss is better, its simple. I won't bring my self to say a Vancouver victory.
We tie in points and gp and win by row.

Go Jets, go Islanders, go rangers.
For the this game as long as it's a regulation win I'll be happy.
If the kings keep winning I'd rather the Canucks fall into that wildcard apot instead of us, so that we're not playing st Louis or Anaheim in the first round.

With the Jets a bigger team and likely a tougher playoff opponent I voted Canucks. I can't see the Canucks making it out of the first round against anybody else in the west.

So many greedy Flames Fans, that surprises me.
We have a better chance at the playoffs if Winnipeg loses. That's all I need to know to make my decision.

If the Jets keep winning the Flames get a gimmie in the last game of the season with the Jets sitting out their 8 guys playing hurt.

I say Jets. Because, Vancouver.
I have this hope thing where I think we can catch Vancouver and take home ice.
Also as things go along, unless the opponent is one of the basement dwellers is it safe to throw out the "quality of competition" or "difficulty of schedule" stuff?
We have played 2 opponents that are supposed to be easier matchups in Colorado and Columbus. But they also just so happen to be 2 of the hottest teams in the league and were not even close to a cakewalk. Anaheim, one of the top teams in the league is mailing it in right now. There are teams coasting and there are teams playing desperate and teams playing loose. With things being so tight, I don't think it really matters. I would suggest that a bigger factor is the road/home game ratio.
There are just too many variables to rest your laurels on difficulty of schedule.

I went with the Jets.
I think the Flames playoff hopes rest more with finishing top 3 in the division than they do in the wild card race.

According to sportsclubstats, Flames odds improve with a Vancouver win... so I suppose that's what I want.
|
So statistically speaking, we want Vancouver?
Gut speaking, perhaps Winnipeg?
I vote Vancouver. We play the Jets on the very last game. I would like to know where we are at from a distance. I would rather not have the very last game potentially be for the last playoff spot. Maintain positions at this point.

Why would I ever cheer for the Canucks beyond the only result being the Flames are assured a playoff spot?
Even according to Sports Club Stats, the difference between a Canucks regulation win and a Jets regulation win is only 2.5%. That's not nearly enough for me to consider cheering for the Canucks.
Jets in regulation, please.

I think I say Jets, The Jets are getting guys back, Meyers and Stafford are both making Solid contributions. Their "tough" schedule hasn't affected them so far. They are a better team than Vancouver.
I see it more likely that Vancouver goes 5-5 then Winnipeg goes 6-4. But really the answer is just end in regulation. I don't think we catch either Winnigpeg or Vancouver and need to keep pace with LA to make the playoffs.
