Just because he wasn't at practice doesn't mean he wasn't there for the picture. Byron didn't practice with the team, but he's in that picture.
Last week, Millions said that Hartley is going to be having surgery during the offseason to address a nagging injury he has had, so his absence at practice may have been related to that.

Mason Raymond is 1g 3a -6 in his last eleven games and generally just hasn't looked great out there. I'd rather start Poirier whose cycle play with Backlund and Bouma led to an actual cycle goal from a team that's never had a successful cycle all season. Never mind that Poirier brings a lot of intangibles that Raymond doesn't and hasn't been a minus player yet in his young career...
So of course Emile's gonna sit the rest of the season and be given the Sven treatment.

How about Treliving?
Talking about missing people, Treliving is supposed to be at the gm meetings in Florida. Lots of photo magic will need to be done to make this one real.

I'm bullish on Poirier as well, but you liking him more and him being younger doesn't = brings a lot more intangibles than Raymond.
At this point, if Hartley felt Poirier would be giving the team a better chance to win than Raymond does he'd swap them out. They are playing to win every game and trying to ice their best roster each night. I agree with you though, I'm not so sure the lines need to be set moving forward, as players get hot, cold etc... I'm pretty open to those pieces swapping out, especially when it comes to Ferland, Bollig, Poirier, Shore and Jooris. Not sure any of those guys should be set in stone on a night to night basis.

I was quite surprised that my kid's hockey team didn't do a traditional team photo. Instead each kid had an individual photo taken and the photography company photoshopped a team picture together.

Raymond does need to be scratched for a game. Ferland and Shore (and even Poirier) would be a better option right now. Raymond is pretty inconsistent not only in points, but also shifts.

I don't disagree that it should be an option, but I feel people are way too quick to want "streaky" players benched, mostly because they are looking for an excuse to insert the young player they want to see.
Raymond, in a season of tough injuries is still pretty close to 0.5 point per game player. He's not a first line player, and most non first line players are streaky by definition. I'm not so sure Ferland, Shore or even Poirier are ready to put up close 0.5 pts per game. If you bench players like Raymond every time they aren't hot, they never buck the trend and you never get to take advantage of the hot streak he'll hopefully pull together between now and the end of the year. Unless he's really hurting you (which is fair to debate), I think you need to be careful yanking proven performers like Raymond in and out of the line up.

Not bad. Although a kid from another team managed to make it into our photo.

Way off. Mike Johnson is one of the worst in the business and it's a shame HNIC has been degraded so much. We almost muted the game on Saturday, Romanuk was horrible also.

The Flames' site has the usual post-practice interview with Hartley posted, so even if he wasn't on the ice, he was there.

Romanuk has been absolute crap.
I guess doing PBP for tykes in buttfart Bavaria for the last 20 years has lea his game-calling abilities to deteriorate

Yeah the color guy between the benches has a monitor and he watches replays. It makes the sin even more egregious because it was when he saw the replay he confirmed the dive.

Joe Coburn probably thought Romanuk did a great job...whoever that is.
