Except for Hockeycentral at noon which is always nothing but Leafs talk. Go ahead, flip it on right now and guess what you will be hearing about.

I highly doubt he would be "buy low".

They'll want a kings ransom for him.

Seems like Shanahan has had enough - culture change is being dropped on the Leafs.

I have always liked Kadri and feel he has been given the Sven treatment with the only difference being, Kadri is much more proven. He also has a nasty edge to his game when he is pissed off.
The key to having players like Kane, Kadri, (Patrick Kane, Seguin back in the day), etc is to have a coach and management who can inspire them to not be ######y off the ice and buy into the "family" culture.

Would the 2 picks we got for Sven be enough to get Kadri at the draft if his stock continues to fall?

No! I took a risk and picked him up in a couple Fanduel teams last night. Figured he would be ready to go after missing that practice.

3 games for showing up 20 minutes late? That sounds insane. This could happen to anyone for whatever reason. I've definitely been late to work more than a few times in my life and I always set 2 alarms. Maybe this isn't the first time? Seems pretty excessive.

This is a tank move. Kessel and JVR would be too obvious.

That is a little different though, since it is technically a Toronto radio show that is shown on TV as well.

No different then always hearing about the Flames on Calgary radio.

Kadri's not that much of a difference maker. Besides it's not like they were winning games with him in the lineup anyway.

Sounds like it is an ongoing issue:

Shanahan hinted that the enigmatic center has been having more than simply tardiness issues this season. Both the Leafs' front office and coaching staff met and determined that Kadri had been engaging in a problematic pattern of decision making, and the team is hoping a lengthier punishment will result in a change in behavior

They only got one pick, it was a mid-2nd, and no, you don't get Kadri for that.

Kadri should be worth at least what Connolly was, probably a bit more.

No to looking at Kadri. While I think he can do better on a different team, he's not a player the Flames need positionally. Plus, there are hints of off-ice problems in that statement.

By the sound of the 960 morning show his diet isn't the best. It's tough to get a young man to fully buy into eating healthy but IMO as long as he's not overweight and is still in average NHL shape I don't know how far a team can go here. In the long run a better diet and exercise regime will help aid his career but sometimes the player has to figure this stuff out for himself.

Sometimes all it takes is bringing in a few veterans with good habits to change the bad habits of young players. It was one of the reasons the Flames brought in Gelinas back in the day, and was also one of the reasons a guy like Engelland is valuable.

It's like any work place. Some people only try as hard as they need to in order to keep up with their peers. Then when you introduce a couple of new keeners to the group, everyone ramps up their effort a little again.

I won't pretend to know enough about the Leafs to assume that the leadership is setting the bar low for Kadri, but it does kind of sound that way sometimes. Some people might recall that even Iginla was questioned a lot about his work habits in his first few seasons until the Flames brought in some good leaders and shipped out bad influences.

This is a player I can easily see Vancouver targeting. I wonder if they would consider trading their 2015 first, McCann, and/or Shinkaruak for Kadri? Not all 3 assets obviously but 1 and something else or 2 and the Leafs throw something in?

Kadri fits Vancouvers model of retooling on the fly by acquiring young talented players that fall out of favor or don't fitneith the long term plan.
