Can Poirier actually play center? I noticed that he's listed at C in NHL '15 which pissed me off but obviously they're usually wrong.

Too bad about Shore. He definitely has skill and size.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

That size would have been pretty useful against the Ducks. Wonder what happened?

Starting Ramo instead of Hiller is a really surprising move. I was certain Hiller would be in. He earned the start as a result of his level of play on Sunday.

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Byron skated yesterday and is on the ice as we speak. Smid (upper body), hasn't been. #Flames

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames C Drew Shore won't face Ducks tomorrow. Expect LW Michael Ferland to be back in lineup. G Karri Ramo gets the start.

I'd expect them to come out with the news that they're shutting Smid down for the year, soon.

Have really noticed Byron absence. As consistently effective of a 4th liner as there is in the league

Totally agree. And probably the most physical player outside Bouma which is hilarious if you look at his size

Hockey happened. Sounds like he's just a little banged up, not too serious, as per the Hartley interview on the Flames website.

I like the decision to come back with Ramo. He will be pushing to redeem himself and the Ducks know Hiller far too well.

Yeah, I've been wondering about Shore for a while. It seems like his face is all punched in for all the interviews he gives. What gives?

Didn't Hiller beat the Ducks and Ramo lost already this year?

Yes and no. Hiller has played in all 4 games so far (1 he replaced Ortio part way through)

Hiller was the goalie in the 4-3 comeback SO win, had a .889%.
Hiller started in Anaheim for the 3-2 loss, he had a .897%.
Ortio got lit up in the 6-3 loss in Anaheim.
But then Hiller got lit up in the 6-3 loss at home, had a .865%.

Ramo hasn't faced Anaheim yet.

Maybe starting Ramo has something to do with the Ducks' familiarity with Hiller.

Seeing as he had a bit of a flop when the Ducks ran up the scoreboard in the third against us last game. I think Bob wants to see if Ramo can bring his game back to the level he was at before the Ottawa game. If so, he's probably got the better chance to edge the Ducks.
