Calgary vs Vancouver matchup would be sweet! Even if that goes 7 games and the Flames win it, this town would be crazy! Red Mile, here I come!

Kind of like what Andersen and Gibson were doing last year? It's possible, and who knows how Hutchinson will play with the extra pressure. As for the Ducks clobbering the Jets, I think it's a bit closer than you think. I still think the Ducks win, but they are just way too inconsistent to consider them a lock to beat the Jets. The Jets are perfectly capable of making that series 6-7 games.

Heh. I was in 10th grade in '04, and I remember Canucks fans having fistfights with us Normals at our high school at the apex of the series.

Not that that means anything, I went to a pretty fist fighty HS.

Every loss would feel like the end of the world, and every win would feel almost like a cup win. And with this team's flair for the dramatic, a series against the Canucks would definitely take a toll on the ol' heart.

Hoping if the flames make it they get Vancouver in round one. I would be fine taking on the Preds as well. Hoping they avoid the Ducks, Kings or Blues

If the Flames make the playoffs, they'll come back from a 2-0, 3-0 or 3-1 series deficit to win.

Yup. I see this happening, too.

Hutch has been regaining his mojo in the last few games. The Jets are also arguably the biggest team in the league, so we would have a physical advantage over the Ducks. I think it depend on goaltending.

The Flames would demolish the Canucks. I would not want to meet the Flames in the playoffs. They arguably have the most heart of any team, and Miller is injured.

We would demolish the Canucks, but I just don't see us beating the Ducks if they make the Quarter-Finals and face us.

One series win would go a loooong ways in preparing our already clutch young kids to reach for new heights in coming seasons, not to mention probably get the entire city fully behind this team again.

I'd gladly take a hard fought conference semi finals loss against the Ducks....SO long as we pound the Ducks in one game at the pond, just to that punch that stupid curse square in the face.

Either way though, this can be a chance for the kids to experience the playoffs and see what its like. Next year we will be a bigger threat with the addition of Sam Bennett.

Ahh.. but the Ducks are ridiculous when they're on. They've embarrassed the Flames on a few occasions this season, while they were hot, too. And you know how much heart the Flames play with. Jets don't play with as much heart (thinking back to those games vs the Flames), and that kind of character is what you need to win in the playoffs. Jets would have to step up their game a lot and Hutch would have to be playing some of his best hockey. I don't think having a slightly larger overall average size is what's going to give the Jets an edge. But..like the Flames, the Jets continue to defy the odds as well. Will big Buf be back? You'd need him.

Honestly, when it comes to the Flames, any opponent outside of Anaheim wouldn't even intimidate me as a fan. Knowing what this team is capable of.. there is some real potential for them to do some damage.

Same thing happened in many schools in 1989 and 1994 as well.

I would love too see the Flames open with an interesting line combination if they faced the Canucks.
