Cant move Glencross and not add anything upfront and show the team your serious about winning now.

I'd like to vote "No, but only minor deals in play"

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Calgary isn't done.
Anahiem- Sekac, Flieschman
St. Louis- Michalek
Chicago- Vermette, Timonen
Winnipeg- Myers, Stafford, Tlusty, Stempniak
Wild- Bergenhiem
Nashville- Franson, Santorelli
LA- Sekerra
The "Playoff" teams of the west are all moving to improve. If the Flames really want the city of Calgary and the rest of the NHL that they are motivated and will make an effort for the playoffs then we will see something.
Brad Treliving and crew don't seem like they are standing pat. Weather its buying or selling or a hockey trade the Flames will make a move.

I think there still could be something, in past years there were 4-6 teams that really had a chance to win the cup, this year its hard to separate the 8 teams in the east and 4-6 teams in the west that could. Your also seeing resurgence of the east vis a vis the west as Stanley Cup favorites. All those top teams see themselves as a piece or two away.

But Treliving has demonstrated that he is clearly not that serious about winning now.

Team is a seller depending on Gio.
This team is not deep enough to muddle through and they need to do better than muddle through to beat LA for the last playoff spot
In a week they might be realistically out of a playoff spot and still have Raymond and Stajan locked up long term.
PS. There is no equivalent to Glencross available. The Flames are downgrading for the playoff run no matter what kind of deals they make.

Doubt we see anything else. The group the Flames have now is what they have going forward, save a call up or two. If they make the playoffs, great. If they don't, well, they weren't supposed to anyway.

I think Gio's injury kiboshed it for them. There is really no point now in adding. Selling another couple of assets however would be an unpopular but wise move considering the returns this year. But I doubt they do that.

Not much left to sell, and definitely not overpaying for a rental. I am happy with the playoff push and it should give everyone a taste of it for next year. This is year 2 and it's too early to go hard for the playoffs. Trust what you have and if they make it awesome, if not then tinker in the offseason. Not a time for bold moves yet, stay the course and let the rebuild happen.
