Swordfish? The Punnisher? Blade 3?

For myself, I went to see Wedding Crashers last nigh which was a very good movie, could have done without the Funeral scene in my opinion, but at the same time if that is my only complaint then I am laughing.

Blade 3 would have made a terrible Saturday morning cartoon. Oh lord that movie was freakin awful.
Garden State was one of the best movies I have seen in awhile.
What????

Garden State was a movie that I was really looking forward to see and was so disappointed by. [/b][/quote]
I just really got into the characters.

Garden State was great.

Gladiator???? That movie stinks. Most overrated movie ever (next to Braveheart of course)

Underworld???? Ok, if you like really really badly acted and typically cliched teenage fan action movies.

I love Garden State, it wasn't an amazing movie but it was simple slice of life type movie with great well written characters.. probably one of the better movie soundtracks as well. You don't need to be a fan of the music on the movie to like it, but those tunes just fit in great.

I have recently seen Crash and Downfall.. I suggest everyone do the same.

Downfall or Der Untergang is just stellar. It was one of those movies that you can't stop thinking about a day or two after you've seen it. The reason? Incredible acting.

The Boondock Saints is one of my all time favorites. Apparently a second one is being made, but I've been hearing that for 2-3 years now.

I'm going to see Broken Flowers tonight with Bill Murray. I've heard good things about it and Bill Murray is hilarious.

going to see movies with expectations above realistic i'll never understand.

boondock saints is a great movie, though it was undoubtedly greater when i was the only person i'd heard of that had even seen it. diamonds in the rough always shine brighter.

as for recent movies i've seen?

ghost world - not a new release but a great flick aboot life and its less glamourous moments.

I just saw Four Brothers and I loved it.

Plenty of violence and killing, along with a good story and great acting. What more could I want in a movie??

I couldn't finish Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Mind numbingly boring movie. And I'm not one of those guys who thinks "oh man sick explosions" when I see an ad for an action movie on tv. I like movies that make you think. This movie did not make you think, it just made you want to go to sleep.

All the movie nerds on IMDB loved it too. Top 25 movie all time on their list. I guess I'm missing the point.
I found that it lost me half way through..and I'm also the kind of person that prefers "thinking" movies

We went and saw March of the Penguins the other night...wow...it has everything you could ask for in a movie..but no gunfights..that would of been weird

Hotel Rwanda was excellent as well.

I totally agree.
I got to the part when they fall through the ceiling and swing around madly shooting bad guys. I couldn't stand it.

The only movie I have seen lately that is any good was Collateral. I'm getting really picky or something because I've watched about a dozen movies in the past couple of months and they were all crap.

I saw The Talented Mr. Ripley yesterday. Blagh. Is there anything great about this movie except for the locations in which it was filmed?

I'm somewhat the same, I dislike alot of the new movies. But I am a sucker for the mindless actions such as the DMX ones like: Romeo Must Die (which wasn't THAT bad), Cradle 2 The Grave and Exit Wounds. But Never Die Alone is a GREAT DMX movie. But as for Collateral I've found that either people love it (me) or hate it.

If you liked (or hated) Boondock Staints, you should check out the 2003 documentary about it's making called "Overnight".

Quote:
Lose yourself in this riveting documentary that chronicles the rise and ignoble fall of Troy Duffy, a bartender whose script for The Boondock Saints was picked up by Miramax bigwig Harvey Weinstein and made into a film. Like a freight train careening out of control, the arrogant Duffy -- once considered Hollywood's new wunderkind -- burns all his bridges, alienating his colleagues, his friends and his long-suffering brother, Taylor.
Netflix link

I liked the documentary more than the movie - I believe there is a German word for taking joy in someone else's well deserved downfall...
