Man, oh man... Why do GMs like meaningless doublespeak so much... Torture.

Because they have to do interviews but don't want to give away information.

4 minutes of general education of what could be done with picks and keeping our options open. That's it, folks.

I'm not hearing that. Sounds pretty open to everything. If they make it to the draft he's happy with that. If they don't they have to help the team. Says the value of 2nd round picks right now is high given the returns this past week.

Suggests that we didn't think that we'd be in a position we are in back in September. Feels that the team will make it to the payoffs. Talks about pro's and con's of using Bennett to help the team now.

Yeah, it was the start of what he was saying. He digressed to go on about trading them, but his original statements was that it was a deep draft and implied he'd like to make picks with them.

Then 180d and talked about 'bullets in the chamber'

On Schlemko:
Was familiar with his play since his days in Arizona. Spoke to Russell who played with him before. Not expecting Giordano-like minutes.

Tyler Wotherspoon has such great potential, so much so that we'll acquire five #6 guys and call him up a bunch of times just to never get a chance to play.

Because him playing five or six nhl games at age 21 means anything in the long run.

Glencross on 960 right now. Pretty emotional when talking about the last 7 years and what a great group of guys the Flames are right now.

Or as emotional as a cowboy gets.

Talks about being a small town guy and what a big change Washington will be. Really tough hearing him describe using Facetime to speak to his daughters and explain that they'll need to get on an airplane to see him for a while.

To paraphrase:

Proud of the young guys. To see the maturity of a guy like Lance Bouma and what kind of player he has become
Top notch organization
Great to see the team rebuilding and seeing guys like Mony and Johnny come in and where they are going
Great core to the team
Tough to leave the guys in the room.
Small town guy. Washington will be a big change
Really touched with Russell and the players stepping off the ice during practice to give a hug and say goodbye.

Glencross excited to get some PK time in Washington, something he wasn't given in Calgary the last two seasons.
