has to be a forward. Can't have 3 d wearing the letters and no forwards. Note, I think Wideman should get Russel's but that's just me.
I think it goes to Hudler. Possibly Backlund or Bouma, but with both their contract status' I think Hudler is the safe choice. Plus it shows respect to the team's best forward the last couple of years and acknowledges his mentorship with the youngsters.

Not Backlund. Too quiet, too soft, and I don't see him long for this organization. I would go Stajan or even Bouma. Or Hudler.

My guess would be that Hudler gets it for the rest of the year. For next year, between Hudler and Backlund.

Giordano: C
Russell: A
Hudler: A

But we're talking about who will take the 3rd available 'A', no?

For every game going forward, give it to each and every core player that started with the team this season so that they can get a taste of what a leadership role means. I'd say, give it to Gaudreau in Philly, then Monahan, then Bouma, etc...
But in all seriousness, it should be one of Bouma, Backlund, Hudler, or Brodie.
