The player recalled from Colorado was Taylor Vause, a forward. It was done yesterday and completely unrelated to the Gio thing.
Addy is down 3 forwards due to call up and 2 due to injury, we were short guys up front.

Gio out long term would suck, but this whole season has been about proving people wrong. I'm excited to see who steps up big for the Flames in his absence rather than dreading a potential nosedive.

On the radio this morning Wills mentioned that when they talked to Potter, he was told to be ready for the game. Wotherspoon looks to be a precaution in the event another Dman can't go. I think all things point to Gio out this game. If he gets put on IR he would be ot for the NYI and Philly game.
Hopefully a week is enough to get back.

On the plus side. If Gio does go on IR and Wotherspoon is already up after the deadline we don't need to use one of the 4 recalls on him. Although, right now it seems like half of Addy is up here.

I'm not worried for some reason.
If we can't handle losing one player that's not a goalie, then we have no business in the playoffs anyways.
I'm usually the most pessimistic person on this board but I'm confident the team will get by just fine.

IIRC aren't teams limited to 4 callups after the trade deadline.
Even with Gio's injury status it doesn't hurt to have extra bodies before the deadline so you don't get caught short after the deadline.

Giordano is the most important player, goalie included on the Flames. He matters as much to our success as Price does to Montreal. This is backed up by pretty much everything, by the way. Normal stats and advanced stats.
