We all know Hanowski is a massive trade chip that will put any deal Trelving is working on over the top. Perhaps that deal happens today

How does this affect the trade deadline for us. Go and find a D that can log minutes, or be more of a straight seller?

Isn't Smid almost ready to go anyways? although, I'm sure if Gio was injured they would call up Wotherspoon.
Not implying anyone could replace Giordano, just mean't for callup purposes.

not sure how close Smid is. He hasn't skated with the main group yet in practice. Also I am pretty sure he isn't on the trip.

This thread title has backtracked hilariously.

Gio falls to the ice and is already bracing his left wrist/hand:
So it looks like the injury was to the wrist (assuming he didn't further injure himself falling on his shoulder); hoping it's just a strain (versus a broken bone). I would rule out a shoulder/elbow injury though based on the video/photos.

Flames skate at 12pm Mountain time... likely no updates until then.

I am not trying to be difficult but I honestly can't understand how anyone can look at the different clips and angles and not plainly see that its his arm that is potentially hurt.
30 seconds after it happened I could understand but by the third reply it is obvious.

Means they haven't called up anyone yet. So that is good news IMO.
However Hanowski wasn't at practice... maybe he got called up.

Hanowski is not on the ice this morning (I triple-checked this time). Everyone else is (except, of course, Ortio and Culkin)
|
Or he's sick. Him and Ramage were doing a community thing with a pre-school class yesterday and he was right in there with the dinosaur toys and kids hanging off him and it is cold and flu season. Wouldn't shock me if he caught something from there.

When I watched it yesterday I rewound and played it a couple times. The way he is holding is left arm has me thinking that is the injury. They even speculated perhaps he hyper extended it in the post game.

Gio blocks slap shots with his face and comes out stitched up the next period. A little arm tweak isn't going to put him out. He's tough as nails.

I fully expect HBO 24/7 style documentary trade coverage as the most attractive trade target in the history of human civilization is made available on the open market.
If there is intelligent life in other parts of the universe, I have no doubt they are watching with interest as all of sentient life asks:
Where is Hanowski headed?
