If the campground at McLean went underwater there would be nothing left of the area anyways. Certain trails in the OHV area will be repaired by ESRD this year with some of the more damaged trails (from trucks,atvs,flooding) being re routed or closed to the public.

So, I don't necessary believe my statement below, but just to play devils advocate...

I thought houses in flood zones no longer qualify for tax dollars for repairs? How would this be a good investment of tax dollars to protect a small % of additional homes?

If we look at this on a purely financial aspect, it would be interesting to see the $/homesaved each option will cost.

Now they are starting to estimate that it would be more effective to let the city flood and deal with that cost versus a dam.

Damn.
