We no longer retire numbers. "Forever a Flame" is all we seem to do now.

I'd retire Gary Roberts before Gary Suter.

Monahan's Twitter handle is still @Monahan20, so it might be a possibility. If it was a situation like Iginla switching from 24 to 12 early in his first season, maybe, but I think he's established 23 as his own now.

Did I miss the press release? Or is this yet another attempt by a CP poster to show us how clever he is?

"Is", that's genius while vague. Why not put a when and where on that?

I think Monahan would stick with his number so he doesn't screw over all the people who bought his jersey. Seems like a lot of guys do that out of respect for fans.

I think someone posted a converation they had with him last season about his jersey number. He said he wouldn't change it because so many people had bought his jersey. It might have been a thread about the third jersey.

IMO....The current #20, has shown that he gives zero craps about this team. Hope he gets gone very soon, end the distraction.

I hate number changes when the current number is so good (I still miss Baertschi's #47).

Stick with #23, it's great. Bring in Bennett with #93 and we have fun promos with Monahan, Gaudreau and Sam as our future all rocking #x3

Monahan has had such good success with 23. I doubt he makes a change.

Bennett should wear 39. I'm sure Gilmour would be honoured.

The elevator doesn't go all the way to the top with you, does it?

Exaggerate much? Glencross said he loves the city and the organization, and said he would also miss his team mates if traded. Sometimes being traded is just part of the process especially during a rebuild. We don't really don't need to make it anymore than that.
