Oilers / Bruins are in round 12 of the shootout, no goals yet.
Chara just tried the slapshot.

What a frickin' awful shootout. It's like the Bruins weren't even trying. The winning goal wasn't even a shot.
-2 McEichel points for the Oil.

With the win, the Oilers are only 3 points back of Arizona and Carolina for 4th most not good in the league.

Marincin whiffs not once, but twice, trying to stickhandle, never touches the puck again, and somehow the puck slides through Rask's legs.
23 players attempted a shot, no one scored. 1 player doesn't attempt a shot, scores.
Why does the NHL still thinks fans want to watch this?

Subban was supposed to get his first NHL start against the Oilers, but Julien changed his mind and put Rask in so they could ensure the win. Whoops.
Their next three are against St Louis, Chicago, and Vancouver, so he probably won't be seeing action any time soon.

The good news for the Flames is that the Ducks lost again. The Bolts beat them 4-1. The Ducks had a 1-0 lead in the 1st period but in the 2nd, Tampa had a lightning strike scoring 4 goals. The Flames are within 9 points of the Ducks. The win for Tampa has them tied with the Habs for 1st in the east. Ottawa beat the Habs 4-2 in the battle of back up goalies. The Red Wings won 3-2 in the SO over the Bhawks, it had a playoff feel to it. The Bruins are slumping with the SO loss to the Oilers and the Kings win their 6th in a row, a 4-1 win over the Kings. The new 70s line is clicking and Quick must be putting something in his Nestle drink, he is playing really well again.

Because most (though not all) do. They can't all be gems.
