Is Brian Hayward still calling Ducks games? He's one of the worst I have heard in regards to homerism.

I think we're seeing a changing of the guard this year in the Pacific, both San Jose and Vancouvers doors have slammed shut and while they might still be playoff bubble teams, they're just dragging out the slow decline like the Flames did for a few years with Iginla. Marleau, Thornton, the Sedins, the core pieces of their teams are all 35+ going into next season.

LA might still be dangerous when they crank it up a notch but they're in a bit of a pickle with the cap next season unless the PA exercises their option to increase the cap 5% then give it all back in escrow.

Arizona and Edmonton are both stuck in neutral.

Things are looking mighty good for the future in Flamesland right now.

He was the last time I listened, and yes, he is the main problem - absolutely insufferable.

Well, a win and a loss in the OOT is not too bad. And a Dallas win and SJ loss is far superior to the opposite.

Can't remember the last time we actually had any help in the OOT. This is great. Thank you, Nashville!

The Flyers blew it as the BJs took over in the third period to win 5-2.

The Islanders won 4-1, no surprise there.

San Jose has some core players who are young though in Couture, Pavelski and Burns who will take over the team and they can build around. Vancouver really has nobody at this point. They could be really bad really soon.

Pavelski and Burns are 30 and 31. They're not young.

Logan Couture is 25. He's young

Sharks are going to miss the playoffs. Kings will likely take their spot.

The Flames reward for grabbing the 2nd Pacific seed and home ice advantage will be a first-round matchup with the defending champs.

Would be quite a series though the Flames would go in as underdogs.

I'm pretty sure in all American sports the regional channels are homer centric. That's how they do it.

It is the case for the majority in my small sample, but last week I loved listening to the San Jose team talking up the Flames.

Listening to them was almost as enjoyable as watching the Flames.

On topic: If you could pick one score to go your way and another against, tonight was the pick you'd make. Good OOT.

Anaheim, Colorado, and Boston are all pretty massive homers. The worst though? St.Louis, more specifically Darren Pang.

Pavelski turns 31 before next season and Burns turns 30 next month. They're already on the wrong side of their career peak, if they haven't taken over already it's not likely they will.

So, you see LA and Calgary both passing Vancouver?

I still think LA punts SJ from the wildcard, and Calgary and Van face off against each other in the playoffs, which is awesome.

The Capitals and OV look like the real deal. They beat the Penguins 3-1 with OV getting a goal and an assist. The standings in the east are very tight as 6 points separates the top 7 teams in the conference. The Islanders took care of business as they beat the Hurricanes 4-1. Tavares with 2 points and back up goalie Johnson gets the win stopping 37 shots. The Isles are a point back of the Habs for 1st place in the east. The Panthers hang on for the 3-2 reg win over the Leafs. That's a big win for the Panthers as they are right on the Bruins back for the last playoff spot. The Predators cruise to a 5-1 win over the Sharkies. The Sharks have no bite, they had a 1-0 lead and that was it. Nashville is #1 overall and look really good with Rinne in net. The Stars surprise the Blues in St. Louis 4-1. Elliot let in 3 goals on 6 shots before getting pulled. Spezza assisted on every goal that Benn scored for the hat-trick. Devils win 2-1 in the SO and the BJs win 5-2.

Habs will continue to creep away from the rest of contenders in the East.
2 games in hand over Isles and 3 over the Lightning.
Carey Price is amazing. The MVP vote is already in.

I really thought the Habs were going to be terrible this season....so much that I expected Therrien to be fired early on.

Too bad
