It's things like this that make me dread Jon Stewart leaving. I can't wait to see his take on this, but to me I can't agree with some of these political cartoons and the ridiculous comparisons to Charlie Hebdo being made

Why do people have such a hard time "believing" this was due to a dispute over a parking spot? We read about neighbor conflicts that escalate into all kinds of horrible outcomes.

Its Muurica, people get shot over less every day.

Just read the guy's FB posts. It may have been about a parking spot, but he sure as hell had a problem with religious people. In particular, "visibly religious" people. He did like puppies though.

Well he did argue for the right for the Ground Zero mosque to be built, he rejects and dislikes religion that is for sure, however the police, his ex wife have all said that this is a long standing feud over parking in the complex.

I don't doubt that them being Muslim might have something to do with this, but I'm leaning towards this being an act of rage about a dispute that finally reached a boiling point for him.

What's your point exactly? That people shoot guns?

Because shooting 3 people over a parking spot is "unbelievably" stupid.

Hilarious. You'd be first in line claiming Muslim extremism if the shoe was on the other foot.

We are talking about American and gun violence here

Do you think he did it because they were Muslim, a mix of both the dispute and religion, or?

I can't speak for this guy's motivation.

However, my view is that the US is demonstrating a worrying trend that is worth keeping in perspective. For example, in February alone:

1) A state legislator has asked muslim Americans to pledge allegiance to the flag

2) A mosque was burned, likely arson

3) Muslim Americans were killed in cold blood, ostensibly over a parking lot dispute

I don't think it's too much to consider that if the coincidental targets of these acts were gay men and women, or people of the Jewish faith, or Buddhists or <insert minority here>, we'd be mindful of the trend.

Last year an average of 289 people were shot in the USA per day, amazing to think these 3 poor kids likely only made up about 1% of the shootings that day.

But of course the NRA would just say they needed a gun of their own.

I wonder which blatantly racist comment from this guy will be the straw that broke the camel's back. It's getting pretty intolerable at this point.

You forgot this one.

Gun range bans Muslims.
