But I agree that where he needs to break through is offensively. Hartley has given him lots of chances to run with it but he hasn't quite done so yet. I think the coach really wanted to see it but he can't just can't give him the ice time.

His offensive positioning needs work. He doesn't get open and he has a really good shot.

Make that graphite composite armour, just to be on the safe side.

And ventilator masks. Don't forget the ventilator masks.

Then the visiting team will look like Imperial Storm Troopers, and the home team will look like Darth Vader or Boba Fett. (And the Flames would be wearing red body armour, which would be unbelievably badass.)

The NHL's search for a big American audience would be over at last. They could broadcast their games on SyFy, and every Star Wars geek in America would be a diehard fan.

I would say so. That's a terrible Idea.

Granlund is scoring at a .40 ppg pace in his first 40 NHL games and already has an excellent defensive game for someone his age. I hope the flames keep him or at least try him on the wing for a few games just to use his great shot and release. No need to trade him if he keeps developing this well. Also when he was playing with Johnny and Hudler, Granlund was leading the team in Points Per Game up through early December.
