Yet again, another big 2 points, this will likely put a nail in the coffin for minny and their hopes for the playoffs. They are pretty far behind now but a 9 point spread is much more difficult to over come then a 5 point spread. Come on Flames!

Agreed, if we win tonight in regulation I'd say we can probably stop worrying about Minny games unless they go on a winning streak and we go on a losing streak. Go Flames go, I think we take this one.

Source? Is it connected to another "Forever a Flame" night like Nieuwendyk's last year?

If Wolf isn't dressed for the Oilers game on Saturday, I'll throw feces everywhere.
As for this game, the Wild aren't actually as boring as they once were. The Coyotes are the new Wild.

Funny, never said the Wild were a boring team anywhere, but somehow that came across. What I did mean to say was that playing the Wild was usually an ugly affair, lots of physicality and sloppy play. Not necessarily boring, but whatever.

Dave Tippett is the professor of boring hockey. As for tonight, as long as the Flames get two points, I don't care if it's boring or exciting.

Old memories die hard. It's hard to forget how snooze-inducing the late 90's/2000's Minnesota Wild were.

This game is not a must win. If it is, it means literally every single game from here until the end of the season is a "must win". And even if the Flames make the playoffs this year, they are going to lose a bunch of games along the way, so this game being a must win is not possible.
Also, what about this team this year has given you no faith that they could win a big game?

This. If anything, it's a must for Minnie and a chance for the Flames to bury them. But the LAK game was arguably bigger.

Per #Flames coach Bob Hartley, LW Curtis Glencross had minor setback in recovery from lower-body injury. Did not skate today.

Great write-up. I figured Minny to be a strong playoff contender this year, but it sure looks like the goaltending let them down. Still would not count them out, win or lose tonight.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

It's a must-win to stay in a play off positon and thus, controlling our own destiny. The moment we're in 9th, we are at the mercy of the teams ahead of us, so to me, until we build up a cushion where we can lose a few and still be ahead of 9th, every game is a must-win.
They're playing a bad team and another team is hot on their heels for 8th. As a Flames fan for over a decade, I'm always weary about games like this. It will take more than half a season of inconsistent but encouraging play to erase those fears.
