I think Johnny is going to find another gear and dominate.

Monahan only needs 4 points to surpass his rookie season.

Toss up between Hudler and Gaudreau at this point. Assuming both guys stay healthy.

I'm going to go out on a limb and pick Gaudreau. He seems to be getting better, not slowing down

My favourite was hearing about how Vladdy Hockey was both faster and actually cared about backchecking unlike Johnny hockey who was, and I quote, a "one trick pony".

It will be interesting to see if Johnny passes Monahan's great 22 goals as a rookie.
He is on that pace having 15.
I see Monahan being the more pure goal scorer but Johnny his this natural talent to hide in the weeds then tap one in or stick handle in tight around the net.

The thing I liked about Johnny's first goal was that he roofed it in tight, like Kane. Early in the season he had similar chances but didn't get the lift.

That's nothing. After winning a few games in October, I read a tweet from one Oilers fan who declared that Draisaitl was already a better NHL player than Monahan.

If Johnny finishes the season with 20+ goals and 50+ assists, it'll have been a very similar rookie season to Patrick Kane (a certain #1 overall pick they went and tanked for). He's not on that pace right now, mostly because of the first five games of the season, but he could get really hot on this new Hudler/Monahan line.

But since the first five games of the season, he most certainly is playing at a +70-point pace. He should finish the year with more than 60 points at his current rate over the past three months, and that itself is a HUGE accomplishment.

Similar except that Kane was 18-19.
