I always thought the Minnesota Wild logo was Mike Ricci.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...sota-wild-logo

Though the predominant theory suggests bear, many believe the form depicted on the emblem is that of a wild cat. The franchise itself, however, has refused to distinguish between the two, referring to the creature as a "wild animal" and nothing more.

No need to bag on head, the fact that many also probably didn't know means that your initial assertion of the logo simply sucking was probably correct.

I thought the Expos logo said "elk" for about a decade before finding out it's a stylized 'e' and 'M'. Is the blue part supposed to be a 'b' for baseball? I don't even know. Terrible logo. I loved the team.

Yes, the 'b' stands for baseball. There was a theory that there is a double meaning to the logo as the white part was a 'j', and that it was supposed to represent the initials of the daughter of the owner, E.J.B.
