I live very close to 75th Street in Edmonton. Some people call it by another name. I refuse to do so.
As far as i'm concerned, the best Finn to ever play in the NHL is a goalie who likes to fish, and not some winger who may not (or actually may) have been the best 2 way player to ever play the game.

I'm surprised he can potentially catch up to Sakic, but I guess the one thing Iggy definitely has a leg up on over most players is durability. He's rarely ever missed significant time due to injury.

I hope Jarome keeps playing, as he has the skills to be successful. He's very durable, healthy and can potentially go far.

Well, I'll admit, I was wrong. I didn't think Iggy had it him anymore, but he's showing he's still a top line guy. I think we were right to move on, but I hope we can find a way to bring him back in a couple years for a Lanny cup run.

People write Iginla off every season and speculate about him just not having it anymore and every year he gets on a couple of his streaks and he finishes the season with more than respectable point totals... When will people learn?

Really wish he wasn't on the Avalanche, I just can't stand that entire organization (Duchene, MacKinnon, Iginla, and Sakic excluded).
Great accomplishment though. We were really fortunate to have him wear the flaming C for so long. I'm only 21, so Iginla is really the only true franchise player the Flames have had in my life. Always has been and always will be my favourite player.

I really hope he makes it to 600 goals.
He's 37 now and has previously said he'll play until he's 40. I'd say he probably has it in him to join the 600 club.
As a side note, it's great that Iggy and Tangs are leading the Avs in points, but IT'S EVEN BETTER that Giordano, Hudler and Gaudreau all have more points. It really is a new era in Calgary and I'm happy to have moved on.

What really makes Iginla's feat incredible is that the majority of his career was played in the dead puck era. Of the 19 players ahead of him, 13 played in the watered down, no defence 80s for significant parts of their careers.

Maybe he will be our Lanny McDonald version 2.0? Comes back in a year or 2 and puts us up to the bar, wins a Cup with his Flames. One can only dream.

Grats Iggy. Can't wait to see him reach the 600 goal mark as well!

True, but he also missed a season and a half (lockouts) of his prime (+/- 70 goals?)

Kurri is underrated because he actually knew where his own end was as well. He'd score 60 and shoulder the defensive responsibilities of his line as well. And his one-timer..... damn!
Great job by Iggy, he'll get 600 easily.

Iginla is not only a lock to reach 600, but without those 2 lockouts he'd probably have smashed it already and would be pushing for 700. Given he was in his prime during 04-05, he'd probably have scored 40-50 goals. The last lockout he'd have hit 30 for sure so add on another 16-20 goals. He should have been at about ~634 right now. I think he definitely could have reached 700.
As crappy as the lockouts were for fans, when I'm old and grey I'll always remember them for skewing Iggy's totals .

The lockouts were as much the players fault as they were the NHL's. It was about money for the teams and money for the players. Soooooo it is what it is, and I would never think it "hindered" Iginla's career. I am sure he appreciated the extra benefits the NHLPA fought for that came from the lockout.

What? You rank Kipper ahead of Selänne? Ok, you like the flames but come on!
