We need to make a decision on who we are keeping, Ramo or Hiller, it isn't going to be both. A two game sample size to say that Ortio is now our new starter is ridiculous and short sighted.

Earned not given right? Ortio is playing with a lot of confidence right now that you need to keep playing him. He deserves it. He's also learning how to play at the NHL level, which will only help us because next year I think he's one of our two goalies

The question was who should start the next game, not who should be the starter for the rest of the season. Ortio should keep playing until he falters and then sent down.
I'm 99% positive it will be Hiller and Ortio on the Flames roster next season.

Ortio looks like a young Kipper out there, even seemed to go for the water bottle after the goal.
Cool, calm and making unrealistic saves. Keep him up, let him play till he loses the spot. No shame in sending him back down if they need to, it's a marathon not a sprint.
If he continues this level of play, you deal one of Ramo or Hiller.

Hiller has never finished a season below .910 and is a career .916 & 2.50 GAA in over 350 games. That's pretty harsh to call that below average. Even if you're looking at this year alone, he's .911 and 2.48.
Trading Hiller would be a pretty big mistake IMO unless we are ABSOLUTELY sure Ortio can consistently put up those numbers or better.
Ramo is definitely second to Hiller, if we were forced to move someone (by Ortio's play), it should be him.

Ortio has looked great the past two games, no argument, but it's way too early to be calling him the new number one. It's also worth remembering that the second win has come against the ~offensive juggernaut~ that is the Coyotes...
Ramo and Hiller have both had hot streaks themselves. When Hiller was standing on his head bailing us out in games like the first against the Blackhawks lots of people were crowing about how stupid Anaheim were to let him walk. Some average play (and a serious dud game) later and people are calling for him to be dumped. Perspective is great!
I'd be down for giving him the start against the Sharks, though - he's done great work and it gives coaching and management another look at him to help in making the medium/long term goaltending decisions.

The fact that people throw Hiller under the bus, shows exactly how spoiled we were with Kiprusoff.

It is safe to assume one of Hiller and Ramo will be gone by the deadline. As far as making a decision on who? IMO that decision will be made for us by what the market dictates and who gets the most interest from other teams. Both Ramo and Hiller have had spurts of greatness and crap, Hiller has slightly better stats this year with a 911 sv% and 2.48 gaa on a better team then last years. Ramo had the identical 911 sv% and 2.65 gaa last year on a worse team.

Ortio -- there is still lots of time to showcase Hiller and/or Ramo for a potential trade. The key is to keep picking up wins (especially against conference opponents), and right now Ortio is the best option versus Hiller and Ramo.

It's a no brainer. The way Ortio plays is way better than Hiller IMO.
