Its all relative. Doing 'well' on the Oilers is similar to saying that you are superior to toddler at walking.

likelihood that the Pens asked Perron about the goods on Arcobello?

100%

Likelihood that the Pens asked Perron about who the problem players in the Oilers organization are/were?

Man what a roller coaster for these two ex-Oilers. Some where, some place, there is a God smiling down on them.

Arcobello and Perron have got to be just laughing their asses off in that dressing room.

Bizarro hockey world. Good for him though.

I'm sure the Oilers fans are pretty confused and wondering about how good their players actually are, and are instead being destroyed by coaching and management.

or does this validate the high prices the Oilers are asking for their core?

sounds like pens fans are ok with this and think that it improves their 4th line, possibly their 3rd line. Maybe not at centre but he is playing in the NHL.

Oilers are no good.

I can see Lowe calling MacTavish into his office:

"Craig, when you called the Pens about Crosby and Malkin, why didn't they just ask for Arcobello?"

I know the Flames one time lost the use of Dean McAmmond because they traded him and then reacquired him in the same season. That rule was put in place back in the Waiver Draft era, I am not sure if it is still on the books.

I'm hoping Arcobello gets picked up so he can attempt to break the NHL record of most teams played for by a player in a single season.

Wow. This has to be it for him. Crappy way to end an NHL career...traded, then waived twice in a month.
