I remember that was "rock 107" before. I used to listen to it all the time then one day they just played "so gimmie whatcha want what you really really want" over and over again for 10 minutes then switched to Power 107. Hated that station so much until it evolved a bit better.

I remember AM 106 had a contest with that studio store in Marlborough mall way back and Pizza 73. You sing the Pizza 73 song in the studio and if they played your version before the top 6 at 6 you would win free pizza if you called in. Stupid story I know but who remembers that that studio thing in Marlborough mall way back. I think was across from the movie theatre.

Believe it or not, AM106 actually sponsored a Formula 1 race team back in the 80's. Allen Berg, one if Canada's few to drive an F1 car raced for Osella, Funding was at a minimum and he actually had a local radio station on the car racing around Europe on the F1 circuit.

I can't find a great picture right now but that familiar little yellow diamond behind the drivers head is indeed AM106.

Mix 1060 was awesome. The landscaping trucks I drove in for my summer job only had AM radio, so that station was a godsend.

Also remember AM 106, which was a good station for Junior High me. I've met Rick Sadler as an adult and can confirm he's a really great/cool guy.

Heard good ol Rick Sadler on traffic on 660news today. Dude is high up at WestJet but can't completely get the radio bug out of him

I logged in just to thank this post. Man, it instantly took me back to the good old days of AM106 and trying to tape songs off the radio (all of which I hadn't thought about for ages). It's early yet but this may end up being my favourite post of 2015. Thanks dude!

Sadler is gone from WestJet, which may explain why he's back on the radio.

I can't recall how many near death, white knuckle experiences I had driving an old dumper we had from the dump on the reserve back south on 37 st and up the steep hill. I would inch up in 2nd gear.......

AM 106 and MIX 1060 were my go-to radio stations in high school. Living in Lethbridge is was tough because the AM reception wasn't always the greatest and was unlistenable after they turned the towers down at 9pm.

I remember when my buddy went crowdsurfing at a first Matthew Good Band show at The Palace (Flames Central), and a security guard tossed him. Zuckerbaby (the openers) snuck him back in through the kitchen.
