on a side note I hate Hockey's Future as everyone sounds awesome on that site, just once I would like a write up to say "This guy's a pylon who has no shot at the ECHL nevermind the NHL"

Knight wasn't as good offensively this year as he should have been, so he's looking more like a shut down 4th liner instead of someone better. This is a big win for the Flames in my book. Any time you can get a guy with top 6 upside for someone that's profiling as a 4th liner is a win.

That would be my guess. Figured they were waiving him so they could bring someone else in via trade. Only makes sense, though, if they bring Shore up to the NHL.
Like Corban Knight but he was being passed by a lot of center prospects, and it wasn't getting any easier. He's 24, this should have been his camp to make an impression and stick.
Don't know much about Shore. He's 24 at the end of the month, and it seems like the same problems faced him that faced Knight, just kept getting passed by better players. Looks like a new situation type thing for both players and organizations.
Poor Knight, leaves the organization only to get dragged back. Though I guess Shore was one of the centres ahead of him in the depth chart at least?
I just want to say this so that everybody understands. The Florida Panthers are no longer a lame duck franchise. The new ownership is doing a good job in the early processes of building a winning team. The don't mind spending money on a winning product. They've already made huge leaps in one season and are only going to get better because most of their top players are very, very young.
I need to say these things because I feel like it's erroneous to keep looking down our noses at the Panthers. They will be a Stanley Cup contender before the Oilers or Sabres get anywhere close to it.

Friedman had been talking him up of late:
"Panthers Drew Shore is a name that has come up recently. After he plays two more games, he’s going to need to clear waivers to between the AHL and NHL (currently in the AHL). Some teams have been scouting him. He’s a center and they already have Aleksander Barkov and Nick Bjugstad."

I understand your point, but what I said was entirely true.
He wanted out of the organization due to his position on the depth chart, only to get traded back to Florida.
