And "Eugenicist"?? Eugenics isn't about population control, it's about controlling the type of population to ensure there's more "superior" people and less "inferior". Your comment is pretty far off base.

If you don't see how clean drinking water instead of contaminated water can potentially lead to population growth I don't know what to say. Your comment is equally off base.
I am aware of what eugenics is thanks.

What if I wear a condom while drinking the clean water?

Clean water could lead to population growth due to increased health of people now and in the future.
Educating people about, and offering them options for contraceptives is pretty much the opposite of eugenics. If he wanted to weed out a certain population a) obviously he wouldn't care about the quality of their water, which you have put together, and b) he would be forcing birth control (and possibly other, more terrible things) on people without their knowledge.
Outside of systematically killing people, contraceptive education is one of the few ways to try and taper population growth. And again, being concerned about the overall unstainable growth of humanity does not necessarily (and likely, rarely) correlate to being a eugenecist. And frankly, its a pretty egregious accusation.

So you're aware and claiming Bill Gates is a believer in Eugenics then?
I'm aware of how it could, which is why I said "I can see how someone could connect them". It's just a ridiculous connection. Giving people a healthier life isn't contradictory to controlling population.

If you don't see that wanting to limit world population growth doesn't necessarily mean you want poor people to die of water-borne illness and toxins, then I don't know what to say either.

what? what's going on in here? Bill's helping develop clean water and somehow that relates to this?
Quote:
Eugenics (/juːˈdʒɛnɪks/; from Greek εὐγενής eugenes "well-born" from εὖ eu, "good, well" and γένος genos, "race, stock, kin")[2][3] is the belief and practice which aims at improving the genetic quality of the human population. It is a social philosophy advocating the improvement of human genetic traits through the promotion of higher reproduction of people with desired traits (positive eugenics), and reduced reproduction of people with less-desired or undesired traits (negative eugenics).

did I miss the part where he's planning to put nanites in the water that will surreptitiously murder all the genetically inferior people, while boosting the longevity and fertility of the master race (which I assume in this case is people who game on PCs)?

Let's not forget the whole trying to eliminate malaria thing he's doing.
Say what you will about Microsoft (I'm looking at you Windows ME), but the dude is doing a hell of a job trying to make the world a better place.

Bill Gates and eugenics is a big meme in the Infowars and Big-Pharma-Is-Evil crowds. I knew a guy who would go on and on how Bill Gates is funding vaccines and vaccines are all intended to reduce the population of the world by killing more people to make the planet better for Gates and the other rich.
I'm sure chemtrails are involved as well.

Agreed. Not to turn this into a Jobs vs. Gates thread, but I just finished reading the Steve Jobs book and it is really hard to like the guy... lol.
At one point in it he even mocks Gates for all of his philanthropic work.
I am a firm believer in karma, karma got Steve Jobs. Keep up the good work Bill!
