No thanks. I don't want to spend four hours at the rink. Also, what do you do about non-calls?
Do you think the concept of the coach's challenge might fit into these situations well? I would guess that a challenge to review and assess the call for Trochek would have been issued given it was a 5 on 3 situation.

Silly Nyquist, doesn't he know the Red Wings get all the calls anyways?

I like how Nyquist pinned the stick between his legs to ensure it was there when he jumped in the air to go down.

I've seen it a couple of times, but it's certainly rare.

There's a couple of reasons I think.

1) The refs call it at game speed and have other things to focus on as well. If they don't want to start being actively involved in the game. The safe call is embellishment. Shames the player, but neither side gets an advantage. The ref had better be damn sure there was no penalty or he risks affecting the game needlessly
2) Most embellishment call are just that. Embellishing a legit call to ensure it's called, eh. faking injury in a slash, falling when hooked, etc

Am I the only one who watched the Nyquist clip and walked away more stunned that 7% of people think Dallas Eakins will be the first fired coach this season to land a new job?
