I'd rather have a 32g 60pt player than a 17g 55pt player. As a spectator, I think Glencross is way less of a player than he was in 2011/12. He may be on pace for a "career year" but he's not as good as he once was.
Dude, people get older and slow down. Linemates change. If he plays more games, and gets more points that is what counts.

Pace as you lay it out means almost nothing next to actual stats. He could have slumped the 15 games he missed due to injury in the season that you cited, it's all what if.

The math truly paints a startling picture of a kid who's overall stats have regressed at historic levels in the second year of his ELC. Probably have to give him a few more games to see what we've got ... How much longer is he waiver exempt?

He doesn't look like he is going 'all out' every shift, and I don't like that on this team with such a young impressionable culture. Sure he gets some points, and that's fine, but I just feel that he could be better than he is if his work ethic was more consistent.

He reminds me of Rene Bourque, but not as lazy.
It is not disingenuous at all.

People criticize Glencross for getting injured a lot. Ok, but then if he doesn't get injured, he has to be given credit for it in the exact same way.

If he gets points at the same PPG pace, but stays healthy and plays more games, then he has earned it. He has had a better year. Period.

In my eyes Glencross's faults are tolerable because regardless of his production, he hits, doesn't take #### from anybody and sticks up for his teammates.

I've never been a huge fan of Glencross but I have to eat crow and admit that I've really enjoyed his play this season, especially in recent weeks.

We don't have anyone else with his skillset anywhere near ready to step in to replace him, so I'm not in a huge rush to see him through the exit door. Perhaps once Ferland is ready to contribute at the NHL level Grencross will become expendable. Until then I believe losing Glencross would significantly weaken the team.

Glencross will get his get his money and term somewhere else. It would be a huge mistake for this rebuilding team to keep him here for his next contract. If you think those dumb penalties piss you off now, think 3 years from now when he's slowed down making 5- 6 mil and taking up a spot of a deserving young player who by that time has more than earned it.

I'm all for a 1-2 year contract but that ain't going to happen

We can afford Glencross' demands for money, but not for term I think. We'd end up with a third or fourth line winger making 4 million at age 34.

I think a 4m x 2 is enough for Glencross, if he wants more, he can go elsewhere.

My biggest issue with Glencross is with the last part of your statement. I feel he sticks up for himself, more so than his team mates.

He wants more. I think glencross gets a bad rap on cp. Flames have nobody in the system that could replace him this year if he was traded. I'm not sure the flames have anybody in the system to replace him next year either. That said the contract he will want, the flames can't give him. Don't think he will waive if flames are in playoff hunt, nor do I think management would trade him if in playoff hunt. Pretty much have come to terms that glencross will move on in the summer and flames will get nothing for him.

he wants more and his market rate is more. He has earned that.

I don't think Glencross will get it in Calgary but as a fan of his I hope he cashes in big time.

Like it or not, it's not reasonable to expect players to go all out every shift. Sure it would be great if they do but it's just not realistic. Truth be told, most NHL players don't look like they're going all out each and every shift.

Glencross and Raymond are similar in that they just don't think the game as fast as most players these days so they look like they are not going full out when they are just processing the play. They both can shoot and skate so they can produce, but you have to expect some shifts where they look bad.
