Solid hire. IMO MacLean was a scapegoat for poor management in Ottawa.

Lead DeBlower was horrible with young players. He was trying to ruin Larsson and Gelinas. He needed to be fired a while ago.

He could have started by not playing Salvador and Harrold for 17+ minutes a night. Those guys make Chris Butler look like a Norris candidate.

It was only 3.5 years ago when DeBoer coached the Devils to the SC Finals. I agree with you that he did well.
