I completed most of the projects I've been working on, and the house I've been working on is almost done, just have to find granite and carpet and it's good to go. After that I'll be freed up entirely for the first time in 3 years. No more 15 hour days between everything.

I am "working" today, but there are only 3 people here and I am the most senior so... pretty much party time.

I have a question that I wanted to pose, but probably isn't worth starting a thread about it.

In your family, do you tell people what to get you for Christmas?

I personally find this a really weird and awkward concept, but I am finding that a lot of people do this. In my wife's family, they flat out tell each other what to get them for Christmas and no one really deviates from that. I always think, why not just buy the stuff you want for yourself in that case? It drives her nuts that I won't tell her what to get me. I leave subtle hints, but that is it.

-----------------------------

I guess to answer the other questions:

Are you already off work?

Working today. I only booked January 2nd off. I love being in the office this time of year as there are fewer clients demanding things and I can get more things done.

How much time do you get off?

I can book whatever I want, but I prefer to take time off in January or February instead.

Are you travelling or staying home? Maybe even bringing in a pet?

Going to see my sister and nieces on Christmas day. They live 10 minutes away.

Movie watching or video gaming?

Probably watch Die Hard and play computer games.

Red wine or eggnog?

Red wine and beer.

Anything in particular that you would like to get caught up on over the holidays?

Too many things.... where to even begin... I am sure nothing will get done though. I hope to talk to my family overseas and get caught up on that.

What food will you be overstuffing yourself with or possibly avoiding?

I always end up eating a lot of pancetta, prsut and salami this time of year. Basically, no pig is safe. Tonight, we are having an Oriental Party Pack, hummus and a shrimp ring.

Does it feel like Christmas with no snow and zero degree temps?

I haven't "felt" Christmas since 1996. I try, but I can never get into it.

Are you going to Zoolights with the new improvements they brought in this year?

Never heard of it!

Hows your week been so far?

Like any other with more annoying drivers than usual. I did all my shopping online this year. Started in August.

We've always done "Christmas lists" in our family. Not like deviating is a big deal, but there's always a gift registry of sorts to look at if you're stumped for gifts.

To answer the "why not buy it yourself" part, the lists usually consist of stuff we wouldn't just go out and buy.

Movie watching or video gaming? Watched Home Alone and a bunch of cartoon specials with the kids. Die Hard is planned for tonight when I'm solo.
Red wine or eggnog? Beer.
Anything in particular that you would like to get caught up on over the holidays? No.
What food will you be overstuffing yourself with or possibly avoiding? Whatever they serve at camp. We didn't have a Christmas dinner this year.
Does it feel like Christmas with no snow and zero degree temps? You don't need snow to make it feel like Christmas. It's nice, but not necessary. ***Insert cheese here*** For me it's all about the happiness I see on my kids faces. Yesterday was awesome. Still feels like Christmas to me.
Are you going to Zoolights with the new improvements they brought in this year? Booooooooooooorrrrriiinnnnnnnnnngggg
Hows your week been so far? Great. We bought most of the kids Xmas gifts months ago. I hate shopping the week before Xmas and was glad we didn't have much to do. After getting stiffed by some fata face on here who sold his Macbook to someone else after we agreed to a price and exchanged numbers, the only thing I needed to do was buy one for my wife. That was relatively painless though.

This thread is one giant wall of text in need of TL;DRs. I did not read your replies, but I can imagine everyone is having a good time relaxing and not complaining about malls/shopping
