Hope this doesn't mean Baertschi's benched.

It was worth giving him a shot, it didn't work out.

Best of luck in the AHL Devin

Jones coming back helps. He bumps Bouma down to the 3rd/4th line where he belongs. Not enough skill to play up against the top guys.

Derek Wills hinted at this on the radio this morning. Without outright saying Setoguchi was going down, he said that he doesn't think any of the young guys are at risk of going back down. Boomer put 2 and 2 together for any of the fans who couldn't.

So far management is proving to back their words up, sorry to see Seto go but it was his to lose, maybe this will truly hammer the point that he's playing too lazy and complacently. Good move and looking forward to see what happens going forward!

The obvious and expected event to anyone who actually looked at our situation rationally rather than falling into a whiny panic.

He simply hasn't produced, and only lasted this long because of the injury situation. It is a shame, but with the way players like Jooris and Granlund, and even Ferland and Baertschi, have come up, he was simply passed by too many guys. Hopefully Setoguchi can add some veteran presence to Adirondack and maybe catch the eye of another NHL team with some solid play in the AHL.

Who sits today? McGrattan and....Bollig? I'd like it, but it just doesn't seem like something Hartley would do.

I am happy about Treliving and Hartley staying true to their word, you gotta earn every spot on this team. Setoguchi unfortunately did not earn his spot. It is never fun to watch a player struggle so bad... but it is fun to watch a prospect surpass a vet.

Could see a McGrattan sighting tonight if the Sharks are still playing John Scott.

EDIT: Scott hasn't played in a few weeks..

Most exciting news I've heard all week.

Jones is a significant upgrade on Setoguchi. Also, it means Ferland is sticking around a bit longer. I really like his game.

same here.... tough to see a players career go down the toilet...... sad to see this happening to a guy at hte prime of his career

Hopefully he has the right attitude and helps out in the A. He could be a good influence for the kids.

Hopefully the coaches down there can work with him and get him on track.

Some projects just don't work out, but it was worth a shot.

I am glad that this helps Jooris and Granlund stick with the big club for now at least.

If Jones can play tonight, we'll probably see a paper transaction where Sven or Knight goes to Addy today and gets recalled again tomorrow. Otherwise we'd be over 23 until Seto clears tomorrow

Personally, I hope Devon finds his long lost motivation in this, and dominates the crap out of the AHL in order to get his ass back to Calgary. He has the talent to dominate that league, so maybe some scoring down there would help put life back in his game.
