Brodeur 2.0, NJD always seems to do this with their starters, 21 in a row now I think is crazy to do to a goalie, they need breaks through-out the season. I get that he's the clear #1 but look at what it did to Kipper some years, it seemed like he had no gas left in the latter parts of the 4 straight first round exits after the cup run.

Can't wait to see him back in the line-up, with how well Gio/Brodie and Russell/Wideman have been I am shocked there is talk about how we need to bring in another Dman. Especially with Wotherspoon knocking again.

#Flames power play at morning skate:
Glencross-Monahan-Hudler
Brodie-Giordano
Ferland-Granlund-Gaudreau
Russell-Wideman
Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames also using
Baertschi-Jooris-Gaudreau combo on PP this morning.

#Flames projected f's vs. #Devils:
Glencross-Monahan-Byron
Gaudreau-Granlund-Hudler
Bouma-Jooris-Baertschi/Setoguchi
Bollig-Knight-Ferland
Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames projected defence vs. #Devils:
Giordano-Brodie
Russell-Wideman
Smid-Engelland
Goaltenders:
Ramo (Starter)
Hiller
but those lines could drastically change:
Randy Sportak @SUNRandySportak
#Flames lines were … how do I put this? … all whacked during the morning skate.

If our PP really starts to click it could turn lethal. We are clicking at 21.4 good for 8th in the league and way behind the leaders in Pitt who click at 33.8 (wow!)
Edmonton is good for 26th at 13.4 and Buffalo is at the basement (6.8 ouch)
I think our D deserves high praise this year, they have helped improve almost all of our offensive deficiencies that we had last year. The confidence/trust between our forwards/D could turn us into a team unlike most in the NHL at the moment. I don't know if this kind of scoring from the D is sustainable for an entire 82 game schedule, I am extremely excited to see how they progress through the year.

Seto has to go. There just isn't any room for him with the amount of youth we have coming up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bollig sat as healthy bodies return to the line up. He's venturing into TJ Galiardi territory of "what does he do exactly".

I hope they avenge the loss on thursday, which we should've at least got a point out of. And hope Ramo puts in a good performance to help push Hiller again, too. Seemed when both tenders were playing well to start the year and the 'starter' was in up the air, was when each was playing at their best.
Hope it's a 3rd jersey night. Would be funny because they look so much like the NJ homes. Maybe a couple of by accident passes from Devils comes of it.

If prospects keep stepping up, its not only going to be hard to find room for veterans but other prospects too.

I think Treliving is trying to 'save face' of his awful acquisition of Seto and has instructed Hartley to play him at all costs.
That's why he was / is getting so much powerplay time.
Sadly I think even Treliving himself knows that the Seto experiment has come to an end.
If Treliving wants to make a mark on this team, he can start by getting rid of Seto and Bollig

Russell is back? Well we should win then pretty easily. Russell is an absolute sleeper, one of the most underrated players in the entire league and one of the best puck movers around. One shift you are covering Gio and Brodie the next Russell and Wideman, good freakin luck with that. No Diaz? The Flames will have an easy time picking apart the old and slow Devils.

I distinctly recall in early fall 1998, the Flames ran a series of ads teasing the new Horseheads with the tagline "The Flames are moving to New Jersey" and "Watch the Flames in New Jersey", with Hulse and Simpson highlighted in the ads.
Of course, those jerseys debuted in Japan that year vs San Jose. Which is where they could've stayed, IMO.

Seto was brought in to ensure if the wheels came off this season that we wouldn't have to ice an all AHL line up. I'm sure once all of the call ups have proven they are ready for the NHL full time Treliving will gladly admit they could gotten away with not signing Seto.

Randy Sportak @SUNRandySportak
Guess at #Flames lines: Glencross-Monahan-Byron; Gaudreau-Grandlund-Hudler; Bouma-Jooris-Baertschi or Setoguchi; Bollig-Knight-Ferland
Randy Sportak @SUNRandySportak
#Flames coach Hartley said he’s not 100% sure of his lines, though. Wanted to see what Devils do. Russell expected to play.

I wonder why they started Schneider last night? Increase chance of winning against lowly oilers or do they buy into corsi and felt Oilers were stronger so started their starter?
