Quite honestly, the Stars dont have a hope in hell of even a sniff at the mug. They just arent good enough. If you want to 'win now' you have to be able to beat the big boys in the West and they just cant.
I agree, and I disagree. While the former does make sense they also gave The Ducks a pretty good fight last playoffs. They could fit the mold of the Wild or Kings I suppose and upset a higher ranked team.

They picked up Seguin, Spezza, and Hemsky the past two seasons, all who were first liners on their previous teams. Sure the team still has some things to be desired, but I still think they're a pretty solid team. Not the Blackhawks, Blues, Blackhawks, Ducks, or Kings mind you; but after that it's pretty wide open in the west for the next few spots.

Head scratcher from a Stars point of view, Dillion seemed to be breaking out last year but has slightly regressed this year, but still a 24 yo d-man at 6'3 225 who can hit and play a steady game for a 2 years older Demers who looks like he's playing lost at times and seems like a shell of what he was last year. My guess is they want to use Demers in the same situations they would/were using Gonchar in to see if they can rekindle his offense and the fact that they got Demers at salary retained helps it make a a little more sense.

I love this internet era...

What a great idea: Fear the Fin interviews Defending the Big D about the trade and vice versa. This gives just about everyone a full picture of the trade and the players.
