Actually, they are.

The list would make sense if it were pre-season rankings, but today? Completely out to lunch.

How the hell does Bob always end up in the bottom half of these rankings? Cmon. You're telling me, sitting at second in the west, that there are 19 coaches getting more out of their rosters?
So we aren't SLAYING it because we are skilled, also not SLAYING it because we are well coached. Can't wait for this team to come back down to earth so we are all put in our places.

As for Gio, are there 11 skaters in total you'd rather have, let alone defence men?

To ESPN... Cool story, bro

Yeah I'd like to see him put up more points, especially since I have him in my hockey pool!

It's a prediction for this season, it does not mean that they're basing it off this season. So, while probably wrong, they're not totally wrong... yet.

Yeah it's definitely weird. If the season ended today, I would think Hartley would a top-3 candidate to win the Jack Adams.

It looks like those are pre-season rankings, with only their points periodically updated to drive traffic. Nothing to get upset about.

Here are the updated power rankings from Sportsnet with the Flames moving up to 8th from 16th.

8. Dennis Wideman. Judging by their off-season signings, can’t say the Flames were stoked by their $5-million man’s performance in 2013-14. This year Wideman has already set a Calgary-best mark for goals (seven in 19 games) and is a plus player for the first time in four years.
Previous: 16

And the forwards were released.... We do not have anyone in the top 100..... I doubt that.

Gio behind Ryan McDonagh is pure NY bias.

Most of the top 10 D have the reputation and pedigree to be there. Gio will get there if he plays at this level for a little while longer. A top 3 Norris nomination won't hurt him either.

Completely agree. This is completely based on previous reputation with an eastern bias.

Doesn't really matter though, because I like our players underrated by the rest of the league -- it will be that much sweeter when we win.
