I thought Brodie was better than Giordano last night. Many NHL teams are still looking for a high impact #1 defenseman. It would seem that the Flames already have two.

Backlund , Colborne (day-to-day), Raymond and Stajan out with injuries and the depth forward with the most career NHL goals a healthy scratch.

This is ridiculous... No need to be a buyer as The Flames have a complete top line plus Ferland (Day-to-day) and maybe Stajan who they have in reserve and could all be back for the start of 2015

No kidding...and the guy has played very well since getting healthy.

Buy him out? Why on earth would that even be a thought?

Call me crazy but I like players that aren't injury prone and can contribute over an 82 game schedule.

Hard to develop chemistry amongst our young guys when you are putting Jones in the lineup intermittently depending on his health status.

His cap hit has helped us hit the floor this season but with Brodie's contract kicking in next season that won't be an issue.

Kids are ready for prime time, let's make room and subtract an injury riddled depth forward to give them time.

A buyout may be very unlikely - but unless we go through another rash of injuries, something has to give by Christmas or so. All 5 of the call-ups won't stay here the whole season, but it's not out of the realm of possibility to suggest that Jooris and Granlund have made the case to stay FT. When we get Stajan, Colborne, Raymond, and Backlund back from IR and if Jones remains healthy for a stretch...who sits?

The easiest answer is to send all of the non-waiver eligible forwards back to the AHL, but their play to date won't make the decision easy.

I feel like we're going to see a trade before Christmas, if we are still in the playoff hunt. And I think it will be trading one of our vets out for more picks/prospects, not the other way around. Or possibly for a 4/5/6 defense man. We're going to have a real logjam up front when healthy.

What was the results of that poll asking what would happen after all the vets got hurt again? How many predicted this?
