Bahhh. Every year it seems some teams will be screwed but they end up weaseling out of it. I've given up on the flames with their cap space getting a great return on a trade with a team in cap trouble.

Hossa makes 7.9M next year and 4M the year after, highly unlikely he retires.

But .. If he retired in the offseason his recapture penalty would be $2.625M/year which would mean they have about $5.85M to sign 10 players.
