Jeebus - we live about 15 houses down from there - can see it from our front step. Thankfully my wife and 2 year old daughter are elsewhere in the city this afternoon. Hopefully it's as "minor" as it appears to be.....

They are only releasing kids to parents, so if you have a kid here, I would get here

Yeah, I tried to be very cautious in my initial post that there were no injuries or anything 'serious' happened. But knew there were lots of Mckenzie Towne Resident's on the board who would want to know whats going on.

Buses are bringing kids to thier stops, but they will not be released without a parent there.

10:1 this turns out to be a guy with something other than a gun or someone legally transporting a NR firearm

It did somewhere, my wife's family called us fairly quickly after it was over to ask us if everything was ok.

Just wanted to say that some of those kids and parents were pretty freaked out by the whole thing. My daughter said that 3 or 4 students in her class were crying pretty bad when they heard that the police were outside.
I am really proud of her though, she was totally calm and explained how she helped to make them 'feel happy' and realize that the problem was outside the school, so nothing would happen to them if they stayed inside. When I first saw her come out of the school, she was laughing and smiling like nothing had happened.
I was pretty worried about how she would handle it, because when the whole Sandy Hook thing went down, the school planned lockdown practices, and she was totally freaked out about it to the point where she flat out refused to go to school that day.

He did smash into someone and then fled on foot, (which started this whole thing), so that's something.
