Driving the net is reckless? Hall is one of the few Oilers who play the game the way it should be played.
Look at the play, he had zero chance of getting in front of Tanev in that spot. A smart player would have jammed up and hit the trailer for a good chance. That's what reckless about him...he's dumb and he thinks he's invincible.
They play Buffalo on Friday, so they should be able to win one.
The puck will drop 4 times and both teams will stand still until the period expires. Then neither team will even attempt a shot in thevshootout. Eventually Scrivens will figure out how to score on himself.

Do you have to be contrary to everything? Hall has been reckless since his junior career and continues to be as an NHLer. Look at the hit he took last week because he was staring at the puck. The guy IS reckless. And not just because of this one play. And you must know that. So are you disagreeing just to be that guy?

In his first four seasons in the NHL, Hall has missed 16% of his team's games (49/294). And the way Hall plays, that percentage is not likely to get better.
Hall is becoming the modern day Glenn Anderson. Not good if this kid wants a long career.
I wasn't aware that Hall had fled the country to avoid child support payments. Maybe the injury is just a cover for him to begin a life of hiding in the Carribean?

He's the new moon.

I feel bad for Hall, he's probably the only Oilers player I like on that team. Such a promising young player with some good talent. It's just too bad the Oilers had to draft him, he would have been so much better on a different team like Boston or whoever drafted third that year.
He needs to demand a trade out of that city to start fresh.
I just don't get how players like him continually get drilled so hard so often. Yes, he will always be a 'target' as he is the best player on the team, but it does seem he will unfortunately have a short career if he doesn't start learning to watch out for guys eager to lay him out.
He has been amazingly resilient so far, and I hope he isn't seriously hurt. However, he can't assume he will just continue to bounce back up or just take a couple of weeks off every year the odd time he gets hurt. These hits are going to add up.

It's not really that hard to get... He just thinks he's big enough and fast enough to power through/around everybody.
This is his 5th year in the league and he still plays like he is in junior.
Just look at the huge hit he took from Ellis last week... Head down while trying to toe drag through his legs against an NHL defencemen. He was lucky it was the smallest guy on the team lining him up for that hit rather than weber or jones or volchenkov... It would have been another 30+lbs. and the hit would likely have got his head.
I've said this before... I honestly believe he is one of the most skilled forwards with an extremely low hockey IQ. That speaks to his wreckless style of play and him being prone to such stupid decisions in the defensive zone. It's like the forward equivalent of Dion Phaneuf.
