My theory is that he was already injured and the other teams knew/preferred a player capable of fully playing this year which allowed us to snag him. Don't worry, I think this kid runs on hunger. Not playing may help to actually improve certain aspects. He'll come back where he left off and even more due to hunger and longing for the game. (Let's imagine what we saw was just a preview and certain things were hidden with the injury).

I thought game breaking was skills or techniques used to disrupt a team from playing normally?

Yeah I thought about if I would classify Kipper as a game breaker, and I don't think so. If the team is down 2-1, and he is stellar and saves 30 shots in the third, somebody still needs to step up to score to win.

Giguere's pads IMO were a gamebreaker in 2003

Kipper absolutely was a gamebreaker. How many 1-0, 2-1 wins did he get when the team was badly outplayed and had no business winning? I would say a gamebreaker is someone who not only scores in the clutch, but someone who can single-handedly get you that win. Kipper did that all the time.

Kipper is the sole reason why we made the SCF's. He was a game breaker his whole entire career.

Default Game breakers

Goalies can be difference makers but not game breakers. Game breakers by (my) definition break the game open. They are elite, clutch scorers.

Edit: Not saying that game breakers are necessarily more valuable than other clutch performers, it's just a very specific label for a specific type of player.

I'd say kipper was a game changer...the Flames would feed off of huge saves and get momentum back but I think a game breaker is different. They break a game open by scoring crucial goals at crucial times, whether it's a tying goal, gwg, or a breathing room goal when the other team is pressing.

Edit: Ya, what edslunch said!
